Shipping:

All domestic items are shipped via either UPS or USPS priority mail at our discretion. We make every effort to ship your order within 2 business days from when we receive the order. Orders including 2 day shipping may take 2-3 days in some areas.

We are able to ship items to alternative shipping addresses (Addresses other than the cardholders billing address). We take great care to verify these orders so it is important that we have all of your contact information when your order is placed. This includes the billing telephone number (The telephone number that your credit card company has on file). We need this telephone number so that we can contact you to verify the information you have provided before shipment.

Returns:

You must contact us for a Return Authorization number (RA#) before returning any item. You can call or email, or fax for an RA #.

Restocking fee of 15% applies to all returnable items except Sonic Horizon, which are covered under a separate return policy. Non returnable items are listed below. Item must be received within 30 days of invoice date in new condition with original box, packing material, owner’s manuals, and accessories. Ship the item inside an extra, outside box. (double box it). Cables should be coiled exactly the way you received them.

Shipping and Handling charges are not refundable. If an item includes shipping and you return the item, the shipping to you is deducted from the price before the 15% restocking fee is applied.

On International returns, in addition to the restocking fee of 15%, all incoming duties and brokerage fees will also be deducted from total credit.

Make sure you insure the item you are returning. We are not responsible for items that have been damaged in shipping on their way to us. Do not ship an item in an envelope. Use a box.

Orders that are canceled before being shipped, but after processing, are charged a 3.5% handling fee

Non Returnable Items: We do not accept returns on:

  • Phono Cartridges
  • Consumables such as fluids and supplies. Including but not limited to Auric Illuminator, Nitty Gritty fluids, Last, etc.
  • Custom length cables.
  • Cut lengths of raw wire (less than a full spool)
  • Connectors and Solder
  • Any item purchased via Ebay or Audiogon auctions
  • Any item that is damaged, which includes any shipping damage incurred on the trip back
  • Any cable that is damaged or deformed, normally caused by improper packing
  • For health reasons, in-ear headphones that have been opened may only be exchanged if defective and only for the same item
  • Replacement earpads are not returnable or exchangeable

Damaged items: (sent from us to you):

We make every effort to package our products before shipping to help ensure that they will arrive safely at your door. Unfortunately, on occasion, items are damaged while in transit. Be sure to inspect your package immediately after you receive it. If you find that your item is damaged, contact the carrier and us immediately. We will make every effort to get the issue resolved in a timely manner.

Q: Is it safe to order products online from HCM Audio?
A: Yes. HCM Audio's website has Secure Checkout which protects your personal information.

Q: What does "shipping included" mean?
A: If the item you order has shipping included, it means the price of the item includes the shipping fee. "Shipping included" always refers to the 48 continental USA states. For shipping outside the 48 states, look below for shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, and international. If you return an item with "shipping included", we do not refund the shipping fees. They are deducted before the 15% restocking fee.

Q: What if I order an item that includes shipping with an item that does not include shipping?
A: We will try to include shipping on the entire order. If we can’t we will contact you to let you know how much the shipping will be on the item that does not include shipping.

Q: Is the shipping included if I live in Alaska or Hawaii?
A: On items that are "shipping included", it is based on shipping within the 48 continental states. We try to include the shipping to Alaska and Hawaii. On some items we can, but on some we can’t. When we can’t include the shipping, we will notify you to let you know how much extra the shipping will be.

Q: I just submitted my order and I have not received a confirmation email. What is up?
A: Our website does not automatically send a confirmation email. Each order we receive is processed individually by us. We generally confirm all orders within 24 - 48 hours (usually less).

Q: I cannot figure out what is going on with the Cable Length Calculator, how do I make it work?
A: The cable length calculator allows you to choose the cable length that you wish to purchase. The cable length calculator has a default setting. For example audio interconnects are generally set to 1 meter. If you wish to order a 3 meter pair of audio interconnects you simply change the length by entering 2 in the "Change Length" field and click the "New Price" button. Conversely, if you wish to change the length to .5 meters, you would simply enter -.5 in the "Change Length" field and click the "New Price" button. This will subtract .5 meters from the default 1 meter, giving you your requested length!

Q: How do I delete an item that is in my shopping cart?
A: If there is an item that you want to remove from your shopping cart, you can simply click on the individual item at the time of checkout, and the item will be removed.

Payment Methods:

We accept American Express, Discover, MasterCard, and VISA. In addition we also accept checks and money orders. We prefer USPS money orders; all other forms of payment require a 2 week hold prior to shipping.

International Orders:

International orders may be placed via fax, email or online. Because our online ordering is not able to calculate international shipping charges, your order will not show the correct shipping charges. As long as you include your complete shipping address, and contact information we can accurately calculate the shipping charges and contact you to verify them before shipment. On the online order form enter "AK" as the state.

We do not lower the declared value of items to reduce the import duties. This is an illegal practice that we will not engage in.
